The Museum made excellent results in publishing activity.
Already in next year since opening 1974 the first book was
printed and then numerous editions were ensued. Considering
that the Museum was the only institution that was registered
for publishing, for a time it has published poem collections
although that was beyond its scope of work.
The most important action of the Museum on the plan of publishing
activities is edition of 'Novopazarski zbornik.' First issue
of this almanac came out in 1977 and all its 1000 copies were
sold out soon. Finally with 2007 from the press came out 30
issues of Zbornik that is highly respected in scientific circles
and stirred lot of interests not only in our country but abroad
as well.
The greatest value of 'Novopazarski zbornik' is its actuality.
In every issue of Zbornik was published several papers which
presented the results of research of numerous localities in
our area conducted during the year in which Zbornik was printed.
The issues published to date presented dozens of papers were
published arising from the probe researches done on many fortresses,
churches, necropolis, and settlements. When are in question
the systematic archaeological researches primarily that of
the medieval Ras complex, the reports on the work done in
current year were regularly published. It was thanks to this
that Novopazarski zbornik became an unavoidable literature
for medieval archaeology, history of the Serbian state constituting,
and the Turkish period. Translated and adapted Turkish inventories
of nahias (Turkish districts), defters (land registers), and
other documents are invaluable for the history of Novi Pazar
region and the only place where one can find them is in our
Zbornik.
